There are five Sedona Recycles drop-off locations in Sedona and Jerome. Each drop-off location is available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That being said, please be mindful of recycling at night as the sounds of items dropping into recycling bins can disturb our neighbors.
Materials can always be dropped off at our facility on Shelby or at one of the five other sites.
Thank you to the local business owners and governments that provide the locations for these recycling drop-off sites. Thank you to City of Sedona and Yavapai County for funding our public recycling programs and making these sites available to the public free of charge.
Sadly, we have had to make the decision to close our Mountain Shadows drop-off site due to the unrelenting excessive dumping.
For quite some time we’ve been dealing with this kind of overt and illegal dumping, and it has simply gotten to a point that is unmanageable.
If you ever use this site, you’ve likely seen trash (not recyclables) all over the ground and even in the bins. This is not only undesirable for the site itself and the neighbors who justifiably complain about it, it is also extremely resource intensive for our staff and trucks to be cleaning and hauling this trash to the landfill or our facility (which increases our organization’s Waste Management bill, of course).
The Mountain Shadows site is less than a mile from the Posse Grounds Park drop-off site and only a mile from our facility on Shelby.
We understand the disappointment and inconvenience of having to close this site and alternatively utilize one of these other two sites, but when a handful of patrons abuse the sites it ruins it for everyone.
